Enhancing usability and workflow efficiency, the newest JVC action camera GC-XA2 ADIXXION is favored by many people. Performance enhancements for 2013 include 1080/60p, an improved gyro-sensor image stabilizer, expanded viewing angle, enhanced low light performance, upgraded Wi-Fi functions and MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (MP4) video recording format. When you got the JVC GC-XA2 camera, you may have the confusion: if can edit some footage shot on JVC GC-XA2 with NLEs like iMovie, FCE and FCP? What’s the best way to import MP4 footage to FCP, iMovie, FCE from JVC GC-XA2 without any issues?

Well, as you see, JVC GC-XA2 records MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (MP4) format video. This codec is not good for editing in Non-Linear Editing system including Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and iMovie, and you will encounter importing and codec problems when you try to handle JVC GC-XA2 videos with these editing programs.

In order to work with JVC GC-XA2 MP4 files on Mac OS X(Mavericks) smoothly, the easy workaround is to transcode JVC GC-XA2 MP4 footage to iMovie/FCE/FCP compatible formats. Then I found Brorosft Video Converter for Mac, it is so great!

It is not only professional on transcoding JVC MP4 videos to FCP/iMovie/FCE/Avid for editing, but also can convert HD camera/camcorder videos to common formats for playing on portable devices and posting on websites. For editing, this powerful tool offers you particular Apple ProRes profiles for Final Cut Pro, AIC for iMovie/FCE, and DNxHD for Avid, so t is easy and convenient for us to use it. What struck me most is that I do not need to download or buy some cumbersome plug-ins, etc., that is too time-consuming, and use it directly, saving a lot of time and effort.
